20 Nov 2008 - TWISTED INTERPRETATIONS OF THE HOLIDAYS at LOW LIFE GALLERY

Cleveland, OH November 20, 2008:

The holidays aren’t always the happiest time of year!
Nestled within a seemingly festive family ritual burrows the buckle of an anxious stomach or the pop of frustrated knuckles. Therefore, in both holiday merriment and perplexity, Low Life Gallery is kicking off the holiday season with a collection of artists who have put a magnifying glass to the otherwise obscure holiday sentiment.

In the name of our profound love/hate relationship with the season, observe an endearingly twisted group show that bears a warped rendition of the classic American holiday.

Featured artists include but are not limited to:
Amanda Davidson
Chris Kulscar
Ed Boyle
Hannah Verbeuren

Gabriel Van Horn
K. Stewart

Kerry Lange
MalPractice U.J.

Mik Mackey

Low Life Gallery
16001 Waterloo Road

Opening Reception
Friday, November 28th, 2008
7:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Hannah Verbeuren and Kerry Lange recently curated “Crying Polyester Peckers” their first show in a series of shows that include multiple artists attacking a common theme from their own idiosyncratic perspective.

Kerry and Hannah have started a different approach to independent art shows by setting up shows that keep their work and subject matter fresh and contemporary. “We want to keep ourselves and our audience interested or inspired” says Hannah, “by choosing one topic, then creating the art around that theme, we initiate a challenge for ourselves and the artists we chose to work with. For us, this formula is more stimulating than simply compiling a regurgitation of our past work.”

"Crying Polyester Peckers" opened to an encouraging crowd of 100 plus art lovers/Clevelanders and took sightseers on a journey into the unconventional world of John Waters.

15 Oct 2008 - EXODUS STREAM SONGS FROM "LET THERE BE BLOOD" ONLINE GARY SPEAKS ABOUT BONUS TRACK

October 14, 2008:
EXODUS have posted two songs from "Let There Be Blood" on their Myspace website.
"A Lesson in Violence" and "Metal Command" will be streaming online for a limited time, allowing fans a chance to officially test-drive the controversial re-recording of the 1985 thrash classic "Bonded By Blood", titled "Let There Be Blood", which hits streets this October 28th.

In addition Gary Holt, founding member and guitarist, has released a comment on recording "Hell's Breath", a rare track from the band's 1980's demo. "Hell's Breath" will be a bonus track included on the "Let There Be Blood" release:
"When Tom and I finished the drum tracks for "Let There Be Blood", we had a half a day of studio time left, we tried to come up with something to record with the spare time we had. One thing led to another, and next thing you know I started playing the opening riff to "Hell's Breath", which is when we both said "Hell Yeah!" Funny thing is, neither of us had played the song for two-plus decades, so we were going by memory on the exact arrangement of the song. It wasn't until I started deciphering my old lyrics from some live MP3's that a friend had sent me, that I realized we had gotten the original solo section wrong! Just slightly different, but overall, this one came out so killer, almost makes me want to track some more of those old classics!"

08 Sep 2008 - EXODUS' Gary Holt Bashes Republican Nominee Sarah Palin

September 8, 2008:
EXODUS' Gary Holt submitted a guest blog to the Headbanger's Ball website in which he openly expresses his distain for the current Republican Vice Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin.
"I hate politicians — all of them. The very nature of their job is to serve the few who spend the most. But the hypocrisy hit an all time high during Sarah Palin’s speech at the Republican convention and the subsequent defense of her ongoing problems at home..."

Gary Holt will be available for interviews starting this month. Please make your requests for promo material to Die Crawling Media.

"Let There Be Blood" is a re-recording of the immortal, must-have, thrash classic "Bonded By Blood" which was released in 1985 via Torrid Records (then re-released in 1986 on Combat Records.) The album has inspired the likes of Testament, Death Angel, Vio-lence and many others. To this day "Bonded By Blood" continues to inspire a whole new breed of thrash metal.

For the troops in the trenches, it began in 1982 with a low generation copy of a local band’s three-song demo. For some, it began with their first listen to Combat Records’ version of "Bonded By Blood" in 1986. Regardless of the year EXODUS are the undeniable forefathers of thrash metal.

EXODUS gained huge notoriety in the international underground scene as a result of the tape trading community. Their dynamic guitar riffing, adrenaline-inducing drum work, and bloodied live shows made all the difference in the band’s mission to take Bay Area Thrash to a worldwide audience.

"After many years in the planning and discussion stage, we have finally completed the re-recording of "Bonded By Blood." We have decided to call it "Let There Be Blood" and it is our way of paying homage to [original singer] Paul Baloff by showing how relevant these songs we had written together still are. We aren't trying to replace the original, that's impossible anyway. We are just giving these songs the benefit of modern production. It's something we talked about before Paul's death and it's always been important to us to do. We were super excited about entering the studio once again to record these classics, and now it's back to writing the next studio record!"
